Robin Hood

Segundo a lenda, Robin Hood roubava dos ricos para dar aos pobres e vivia com a sua gangue e Maid Marion na Floresta Sherwood, perto de Nottingham. Mas isso é um mito ou realidade?

Alguns dizem que ele realmente existiu e viveu de 1160 -1247, sendo enterrado em Kirklees Priory em West Yorkshire. A história diz que Robin (ou Robert) foi nomeado Conde de Huntingdon por Ricardo, Coração de Leão e que a inscrição na lápide em Kirkles é uma cópia do original.

Mas historiadores contemporâneos não citam Robin Hood, o que é raro considerando a sua popularidade. Isso fez com que muitos acreditassem que ele na verdade foi uma figura mítica, simbolizando a luta pela liberdade contra as leis injustas dos barões das Idades Médias.
