Magia

Acreditava-se que a força da magia vinha dos deuses e era concedida aos reis e padres. Mas havia também mágicos mundanos que não lidavam com vida e morte mas coisas como amuletos de sorte, controle de peste e poções de amor. A magia tinha um papel prático: proteger a mãe no parto; garantir que o morto pudesse falar, comer e ver na vida após a morte; e curar os doentes. O amanhecer e o anoitecer são os melhores momentos para realizar feitiços, anotá-los ou repetí-los seguidamente, usando facas de magia e manequim. Números mágicos, sangue, sêmen, óleo, plantas e as cores preto e branco eram ingredientes importantes.
