Complexos de Templos

As áreas públicas exteriores do complexo sediavam lagos sagrados, clínicas, cozinhas, padarias, celeiros e a ‘Casa da Vida’ – o templo da universidade, bibilioteca e escritório. Um cais de desembarque e grandes calçadas, com fileiras de esfinges e outras estátuas enormes, levavam às paredes do templo e aos portões massivos do templo.
Em seguida vieram as cortes, abertas para padres e às vezes para o público, e então seus corredores interiores, abertos apenas para padres purificados. Aqui estava o impressionante Hypostyle Hall com suas colunas massivas. Finalmente, você chegava até o santuário interior, onde apenas o rei e padres da elite tinham acesso. Este contava com paredes de ofertas, uma capela para o barco que carregava a estátua de deus e, o próprio santuário sagrado, lar da estátua de deus.
