Rá

Rá tinha várias formas durante o dia. Ele era um deus vivo de dia e morto à noite. Ele nascia de manhã como uma pequena criança, se transformava em homem no meio do dia e era um velho ao pôr-do-sol – para então renascer na manhã seguinte. Durante este tempo, ele navegava pelo paraíso em um barco chamado ‘Barca de Milhões de Anos’. Dessa forma, os egípcios explicavam o movimento do sol no céu. O culto de Rá ao sol era baseado em Heliopolis. Acredita-se que ele tenha sido o pai dos reis e de todos os deuses importantes.
